Ho’oponopono has deep roots in ancient Hawaiian culture and was traditionally a community-based practice used to restore balance and harmony within families or groups. The word “Ho’oponopono” comes from two parts in the Hawaiian language:
“Ho’o” means to cause or make something happen.
“Pono” means right, correct, or in balance.
Thus, Ho’oponopono essentially means “to make things right” or “to restore balance.”
